Manchester United defender Daley Blind is in talks to sign for Roma after the Serie A giants let Emerson Palmieri join Chelsea for £25million.
The Brazilian completed his move to Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night and Eusebio Di Francesco wants a new left-back to fill the void. Blind, 27, is surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and is viewed as a squad player by Jose Mourinho.
The Dutchman is thought to be keen on a move to Serie A and the Daily Mail claim he could make the move to the Italian capital on deadline day.
Blind has been on the fringes of United’s squad this term and Luke Shaw’s form at left-back has put him even further down the pecking order. The Holland international joined United in 2014 for £14m from Ajax and was a regular under Louis van Gaal.
However, a move to Roma – where he has a greater chance of first-team football – is likely to appeal to the 27-year-old. United value Blind at around £16m.
