GOOD NEWS: Man Utd Agree £35m Deal to Sign This All-Action Young Ivorian Midfielder
Manchester United are reported to have agreed to sign Jean-Michael Seri for a fee of around £35million this summer – with the midfielder said to be “excited” at the prospect of moving to Old Trafford.
The Ivory Coast international, whose transfer to Barcelona last summer fell through at the 11th hour, has been tracked by United boss Jose Mourinho over the past few months, with some reports suggesting he could be brought in as a replacement for Paul Pogba.
However, amid claims in the Monday’s Paper Talk that Seri is also being targeted by Liverpool and Arsenal, Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo have claimed a switch to Old Trafford has already been agreed.
The 26-year-old’s contract at Nice expires next year and he would cost around €40m (£35million) to buy out his contract.
United were said to be keen on signing him last month, but it’s thought a gentleman’s agreement between the clubs will see the move go through at the end of the season.
Mundo Deportivo claims Seri has already told friends he is Premier League bound and is ‘excited’ by the move to Old Trafford.
Bayern Munich are admirers of him too but their interest cooled following the capture of Leon Goretzka.
