Selling These 2 Flops Would be Man United’s Best Business in Years

The Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping that Jose Mourinho can get rid of some deadwood in the squad and bring in some more new faces

Manchester United are having their best season since they last won the Premier League back in 2013 under current boss Mourinho. The Red Devils have had a fair few poor seasons in recent times, which has not gone down well with our local Mancs in the bar’s high standards.

Despite winning the Europa League and League Cup last season, United finished outside the Champions League spots once again. Many of the regulars in the bar, however much cup wins are great, would much prefer a good league run and be challenging for the top spot.

With summer approaching, Mourinho has his fifth transfer window to make this United squad into Premier League Champions. He should surely look to shift out some deadwood and this could all start with these TWO players…

MATTEO DARMIAN

The Italian full-back since his arrival at Old Trafford hasn’t done much to impress our regulars in the back-room. He’s certainly dropped further down the pecking order in recent months and his game time had reduced immensely.

A move out of United would be the best thing for Matteo Darmian at this point in his career, and Mourinho would surely be willing to let him go, whatever the price. The need for full-backs has greatly reduced much to the form of Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young and Luke Shaw this season while Darmian warms the stands from afar.

DALEY BLIND

Daley Blind came to United as the long-term replacement for Micheal Carrick they needed, he impressed hugely in his first few games with his simple passing and control in the centre of the park. However, since then Blind has been used as more of a utility player than a specialist in one position.

Having not really got a role in the team and more of a backup squad player now, Mourinho could move the Dutchman on to replace him with a quicker and more specialised player within the team.
